Lee Alexander to produce my third studio album

Y’all, I’ve been holding back this news until it was a done deal, but I can tell you now! I’m THRILLED that I will be going into the studio next month to record my third studio album with producer Lee Alexander. You may be familiar with his work as a songwriter, bass player and producer of Norah Jones’ albums, or of Amos Lee’s debut album. Lee will help with arrangements for the songs and help me shape this album into something far better than I could produce alone. AND, he and Norah built a studio a few years back in their East Village apartment, and um, I’ll be recording there. NEATO! ALSO, Lee is bringing in Tom Schick to engineer the album – Tom is equally stellar, having engineered records for Rufus Wainwright, Wilco, Willie Nelson, and Norah, too.

We are BEYOND excited!  All that said, top-notch producers and engineers can’t make a good record with bad musicians. So, if you like my band – you’re in luck. I’m STOKED to have all my favorites play on this record: none other than my very own hubby and cowriter Jimmy Sullivan on bass; Steve Elliot on electric guitar and “Stevie-Swells”, Rich Hinman on pedal steel guitar, Mike Cassedy on keys, Marika Hughes on cello, Brian Wolfe and Jordan Perlson on percussion, and two of my cowriters Adam Levy and Colin McGrath will also make guest appearances. YES oh YES!
